The Ranger Assist Program (RAP) is a unique experience offered to those who wish to have a more personal encounter with Boo and for bear enthusiasts alike. Tours provide exclusive access to meet the Grizzly Bear Refuge Ranger team, giving visitors a behind the scenes perspective of Boo, his story and the Grizzly Bear Refuge operations.
Ranger Assist tours are limited to five guests and must be booked at least one day in advance.
What's Included
- 2 hour behind the scenes Grizzly Bear Interpretive Centre tour with one of our knowledgeable guides for one person (5 people max per tour)
- Catamount Chair Lift Access for the day
Tour Times
- 9:00 am, daily (during summer season)
- 3:00 pm, daily (during summer season)
- 12:00 pm, Tuesdays and Wednesdays (during late summer season)

Additional Information
- Guests on the 9 am tour or visiting on days the Catamount Chair is not in operation will meet with The Rangers at the Day Lodge at their scheduled tour time.
- Guests taking the 3 pm tour will ride up the Catamount Chair at 2:45 pm and meet the Rangers for their exclusive experience before being driven back down to the Day Lodge.
- Ranger Assist tours are limited to five guests and must be booked at least one day in advance
- Grizzly bears are most active in the cooler morning hours
- Wear comfortable walking shoes
- Bring bug spray and a light jacket
- No food allowed due to Boo’s strong sense of smell
- Each tour is unique and unscripted based on Boo’s activity
