Ranger Assist Program - Individual

The Ranger Assist Program (RAP) is a unique experience offered to those who wish to have a more immersive experience at the Grizzly Bear Refuge. Tours provide exclusive access to meet the Grizzly Bear Refuge Ranger team, giving visitors a behind the scenes perspective of Boo, his story and the Grizzly Bear Refuge operations.

Ranger Assist tours are limited to five guests and must be booked at least one day in advance.

What's Included

• Behind the scenes Grizzly Bear Interpretive Centre tour with one of our knowledgeable guides for one person (5 people max per tour)
• Catamount Chair Lift Access for the day

Additional Information

• Guests on the 9:00 am tour or visiting on days the Catamount Chair is not in operation will meet with The Rangers at the Day Lodge at their scheduled tour time.
• Guests taking the 3:00 pm (early and late summer season) tour will ride up the Catamount Chair at 2:15 pm to join the 2:30 pm public tour, and stay behind to meet the Rangers for their exclusive experience at the Refuge for 3:30 pm.
• Guests taking the 4:00 pm (core summer season) tour will load the Catamount chair by 3:30 pm and meet their Ranger at the Yurt at 4:00 pm. Guests will be transported by vehicle back to the Day Lodge using our service road at the end of their tour.
• Your Catamount tickets can be picked up at any time during operating hours, upgraded to include the gondola, and utilized prior to your 3/4pm tour.
• Grizzly bears are most active in the cooler morning hours
• Wear comfortable walking shoes
• Bring bug spray and a light jacket
• No food allowed due to Boo’s strong sense of smell
• Each tour is unique and unscripted based on Boo’s activity
